Recently, nearly 100 Corporate Coalition of Chicago members, anchor partners, and friends of the Coalition gathered to discuss the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer (https://lnkd.in/gkP3YbJs), the impact of a growing sense of grievance and mistrust, and implications for our work at the Corporate Coalition. The topic was timely and the conversation deeply engaging. But what struck me most was the commitment of Chicago’s business community to our mission of re-thinking business practices to create more thriving workplaces, businesses, and communities. The practices that our members are leading – tapping previously excluded talent, investing in employees, moving jobs to and investing in communities – re-humanize the workplace in ways people are hungry for. In an age of fear and grievance, our members and partners are demonstrating the power and hope of Business UNusual. Special thanks to Edelman for hosting and to Alex Thompson, Matt Primack, Marcos Gonzales, Marisela Martinez-Williams, and Rob McGhee for bringing the deep substance and insights that made our discussions so rich.
