April is Fair Chance Hiring Month. We are proud to highlight Leadership Council Member JPMorganChase's advocacy and business practice changes in this space.
One in three Americans has a criminal record. Even after these individuals pay their debt to society, many face significant challenges finding meaningful employment.
Addressing barriers to employment can help pave the way to a second chance for millions of individuals, and businesses can play a pivotal role. JPMorganChase has long been a vocal and visible advocate for this work. This year they commissioned an art installation at Independence Mall of 38 statues, made from the legal paperwork that serves as a barrier to people with records in states that have yet to enact Clean Slate legislation.
Clean Slate creates a process to automatically clear eligible records, giving more people a second chance at opportunity. We all have an important role to play in driving change – and we are proud to partner with JPMorganChase all year long to make an impact in our communities.
